Keep in mind, most of these things can be bought once you’re in town, either on or off campus (off campus is cheaper). Also remember you can’t bring liquids in a carry-on, if you’re flying, so buying a bunch of bottles of things in advance won’t help without a checked luggage.
Also remember you get to haul this in and out of your room. And when you’re leaving, your parents might not be helping you. >__>
Cleaning:
Laundry detergent
Bleach (if needed - I never used it)
Drying rack (make with some thin rope, only need if you have delicate items)

1 hand towel (for drying dishes)

(For example, mine have hard plastic bottoms and sort of suede-like tops.)

You don’t need a huge wardrobe. You really don’t. Here’s a trick: starting now, put your clothes in the closet with the hangers pointing the opposite direction from usual (so the short part of the hook faces you). If you don’t wear that item by the time you’re packing, you probably don’t need it. (This excludes clothes of the wrong weather, etc.)

Brush
Comb
Deodorant
Chap stick
Hair styling products (if you use them)
